Boston 2026 is a celebration of philately with something for everyone, and will be remembered forever.

This month, all philatelic eyes will be on Boston. For eight days (23rd to 30th May), the Boston 2026 World Stamp Expo brings together exhibitors, societies, collectors, postcrossers, dealers, auctioneers, postal administrations, and postal enthusiasts from across the globe.
Whether you’re a seasoned exhibitor or a curious newcomer, this is not just another stamp show: it’s a landmark event packed with unique concepts and unforgettable experiences.
Everyone remembers their first International show. Will this be yours?
Here are 10 reasons we’re excited about Boston 2026:
1. A Once-in-a-Decade Global Gathering
International philatelic exhibitions of this scale happen only once every ten years in the U.S. That rarity alone makes Boston 2026 a must-attend milestone event, bringing together the worldwide collecting community under one roof. The show will fill over 350,000 square feet of exhibition space at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, making it one of the largest philatelic events ever staged. It’s not just big… it’s immersive!
And before and after the show hours, you can also make the most of the historic city of Boston and the Seaport District of the city too.
One of the best things about our hobby is the people. Many of us know fellow collectors and dealers from publications, social media, forums, stories from society chatter, online and in person at smaller events. Boston 2026 is an opportunity to meet legends, friends, experts, fellow enthusiasts, mentors, and trusted dealers face-to-face. A connection made at an International show like this can be a connection for life. And philately is our life!
You can even say you were part of making the show happen by becoming a volunteer. What a wonderful opportunity to contribute, learn, and meet new people. You can volunteer for just half a day if that is all you can do. Here's the link to volunteer.
2. A Truly Global Showcase of Philately
A show like this becomes a living breathing philatelic museum. Expect exhibits that will blow your mind, judged to international standards and offering inspiration and insight into elite-level collecting. Meet the exhibitors and hear their stories. The material and displays will be some of the best in the world. And the passion behind philately will be some of the best in the world. There’s a buzz you get from seeing this level of philatelic content in real life that will stay under your skin for a very long time.

3. A World-Class Dealer Bourse
For collectors, the bourse is the heartbeat of the show. Boston 2026 promises a vast marketplace where you can:
Discover rare material and elusive items
Fill long-standing gaps in your collection
Discover new collecting areas
Connect directly and build relationships with top international dealers and auction houses
It’s not just buying; it’s treasure hunting on a global scale. And for those in the trade, it’s an opportunity to broker deals face to face.

5. Daily USPS First Day of Issue Ceremonies
Boston 2026 will host daily new stamp releases; many tied to major historical themes. If you haven’t attended a first day issue ceremony before, make sure you add this to your philatelic record.
Look out for the Stamp Encore ceremony, a re-release of a stamp voted on as the most popular among 25 from the past three decades. The design is being kept secret until the ceremony and is only available for sale at Boston 2026 until its June 1 nationwide release.
Another issue we expect to be popular is the USPS Postcrossing issue – a block of four triangular international first-class rate stamps honouring the worldwide organisation of postcard mailers.

Some of our PTS Members are also hosting First Day Ceremonies at Boston including:
Posta Faroe Islands First Day of Issue Ceremony Art by Hans Skálagarð: USS Constitution. and Polar Salon special issue: French Explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot's Voyages to the Faroe Islands. Engraver: Martin Mörck
Guernsey Post Cinderella Unveiling Ceremony. Boston 2026 special Cinderella celebrating the shared history and craftsmanship between Guernsey and the United States: Paul Revere, silversmith, and patriot of the American Revolution. Designer/Illustrator: Martin Mörck
6. World Record Attempt for the largest Postcrossing Meetup
Over the past 20 years, over 80 million Postcrossing postcards have crossed oceans and borders, carrying stories, smiles, and small moments of kindness between strangers.
At its heart, Postcrossing is a celebration of connection, proving that even in a fast-paced and digital world, a handwritten message and a simple postcard can make someone’s day a little brighter. There are over 800,000 postcrossers around the world.
And at Boston 2026 World Expo, there will be an attempt to host the largest ever Postcrossing Meetup. At a Meetup, you meet up with likeminded people, and you get to write postcards together. So, whether you’re new to Postcrossing, haven’t postcrossed in a while, or are an avid postcrosser, make a Postcrossing Meetup part of your Boston 2026 experience.
7. The “Exploring Stamps” Experience
A first-of-its-kind experience is coming to Boston thanks to the Exploring Stamps team: THE STAMP STUDIO. Including this innovative and interactive concept is a clear signal that the Boston 2026 organisers understand the need to invest in the future of the hobby. For us, this means investing to encourage diversity, education, use of technology, getting creative, and critically, building a sense of community and friendship amongst collectors of all levels and areas of interest.
The Stamp Studio will be live from the show floor capturing interviews, collector stories, show-and-tell moments, and the energy of the event. Why not bring something from your collection or something you’ve acquired at the show and share it on camera?

8. Specialised activities for Families, Young Collectors and Scouts
Boston 2026 World Expo received a $30,000 grant from the TPFoundation to support the show’s youth area and activities. This generous grant is helping to ensure young visitors to the show will have a rich and memorable introduction to stamp collecting. There are educational activities, show tours, and 5 million free stamps offered at the show. And for Scouts, stamp collecting merit badge workshops are taking place (register here). Crossing over to numismatics? A coin collecting merit badge workshop is also planned.
9. A Museum-Scale Experience
When visitors enter the exhibition hall at Boston 2026, they will be delighted to see an incredible display of British culture anchored by a central display of the iconic burgundy Phantom IV Rolls-Royce once owned by Queen Elizabeth II.
That car, and the stories it carries, forms the heart of a major special exhibit developed as a flagship Context Philately installation for the Boston 2026 World Expo. Conceived as a temporary, museum-type exhibition, it will be open only for the eight days of the show. This immersive exhibition places stamps within a broader historical context.

10. Lego
Yes, Lego. The New England Lego Users Group (NELUG) will have a huge booth at Boston and will display original LEGO creations celebrating Boston landmarks as well as the history of global mail and its artwork. LEGO builders will be on hand to answer questions about the brick-building hobby, and they will have a number of fun hands-on activities for visitors, including a large community-built LEGO mosaic and a postcard stamping craft to personalise and bring home.
We’re excited!
All this and more! And incredibly, Boston 2026 is free to attend, making it accessible to collectors of all ages and experience levels.
The Boston 2026 World Stamp Expo is more than an exhibition: it’s a celebration of everything that makes philately unique: history, competition, education, celebration, artistry, discovery, community, and global connection.
Don’t miss this opportunity to enrich your enjoyment of our amazing hobby.
