Stampex
at the BDC

Stampex takes place at the award winning, Business Design Centre in Central London, easily accessible by plane, train, tube, car, taxi, bike and by foot.

Security

Stampex is held at the Business Design Centre, a gold standard event space with professional security and safety measures.

You can expect to see and interact with a polite front of house team and bag checkers when you enter the venue. You’ll be guided up the escalator (or lift/stairs if you prefer) to the Gallery Hall level and staffed Welcome Desk.

We have a staffed clock room dedicated to Stampex just outside the Gallery Hall if you’d like to leave any coats/bags. There is a charge of £2 per item.

We have dedicated first aiders for the show. If you start to feel unwell or see someone who needs attention, speak to a BDC security team member, Welcome Desk personnel, or a front of house member of staff. Stand holders are also aware of how to contact first aid personnel.

As well as CCTV, we have dedicated security personnel both in static and roaming positions around the show. Our security team manager has led on many Stampex shows and the team is briefed ahead of the show and daily as required.

Security is in place to protect you, our stand holders, our team, and the BDC. If you are asked by a member of the team to wait, to queue, to follow a certain route, to take action, for a bag check, for information, or for any other reason, please treat the team with respect and assist them in any way that you can. Thank you for helping us make sure the show runs smoothly, safely and securely for everyone.

More info on security from the BDC:

“We take your safety and security seriously, so for this reason we implement all necessary measures to ensure that our team and building are prepared for emergencies. We operate in close partnership with our local emergency services and frequently provide training to staff to ensure that they are able to meet the needs of our guests should an emergency arise.

You are encouraged to take an active role in safeguarding both yourselves and any personal property you might bring into the venue. We run a number of crime prevention and personal safety initiatives with the local Police Service.

When you arrive at the venue, please acquaint yourself with the emergency exits. Take note of the emergency telephones around the building, which have red handsets, and the general layout of the facilities.

Should you find a suspect package please notify Security immediately by using the red (emergency) telephone handsets located in the stairwells throughout the venue. DO NOT use your mobile phone. Suspicious packages must be treated with extreme caution and should not be touched. Move yourself and any other person away from the area but make sure you are able to direct security to its location. Follow the instructions of members of security and fire marshalls who you will be able to identify.”
